Requirements
Must:
- 15–20 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering within extensive enterprise environments
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered)
- Profound expertise in enterprise log management and SIEM platforms, especially Splunk, including Universal Forwarder setup, policy management, and troubleshooting
- Practical experience in developing and maintaining Ansible Playbooks for infrastructure automation and syslog collection
- Strong proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and Citrix desktop/VDI environments
- Experience with enterprise endpoint protection platforms such as Qualys, Palo Alto XDR, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Extensive background in access management and authentication technologies like F5, PIV/smart card, VLDAP, and enterprise directory integration
- Familiarity with Guardium, VMware, and Cribl data management platforms
- Understanding of Microsoft O365 G5 security suite including MCAS and DLP
- Knowledge of federal IT security standards including FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, STIG compliance, and RMF/ATO processes
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises enterprise infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities across syslog feeds, log parsing, log forwarding, authentication, and entitlement issues
Responsibilities
- Implement, configure, and manage enterprise cybersecurity systems and platforms based on architectural designs created by the Architect SME and IRS government partners
- Plan, design, and expand VMware and Guardium log ingestion into the IRS enterprise Log Collection (LOGC) system
- Troubleshoot log parsing challenges across Splunk Universal Forwarder, Guardium, Prisma, and Aruba Airwave WLAN feeds
- Develop and sustain Ansible Playbooks for syslog collection, F5 automation, and infrastructure scaling
- Execute upgrades and patching of LOGC systems in test and production environments
- Prepare for and assist with Cribl integration to enhance log data processing and routing
- Configure and troubleshoot F5 CI access policies for enterprise Splunk access
- Conduct PIV/smart card testing for RHEL desktops in VDI and Citrix settings, including smart card role mapping
- Investigate and resolve authentication failures across F5, VLDAP, and domain setups
- Test and deploy RHEL desktop configurations using Citrix and cloud-init for session-specific needs
- Aid in scaling VMware and Guardium log systems and plan F5 hardware migrations and traffic adjustments
- Conduct analysis of object storage for log and data movement between enclaves
- Implement and uphold over 4,000 STIG security controls across the enterprise environment
- Automate deployment and configuration tasks to enhance repeatability and lessen manual workloads
- Support continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and ATO sustainment activities
Description
At Broadway Ventures, we are engaged in pursuing a federal cybersecurity contract with the Internal Revenue Service. We are seeking a senior Cybersecurity Technical Engineer to serve as a Key Personnel designee, directly immersed within the IRS IT Cybersecurity Engineering & Architecture Branch. This position focuses on the implementation, configuration, operation, and automation of the enterprise security infrastructure supporting the IRSs modernization initiatives. We offer a competitive salary range of $200,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year and a hybrid work model, primarily at the IRS headquarters in New Carrollton, MD.
