Requirements

Must:
- 15–20 years of practical experience in cybersecurity architecture within extensive enterprise settings - Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline (equivalent experience considered) - Profound expertise in Zero Trust Architecture frameworks including CISA ZTMM 2.0 and NIST SP 800-207 - Proven experience with CDM program implementation in a federal setting - Proficiency with enterprise endpoint protection solutions such as Qualys, Palo Alto XDR, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) - Familiarity with log management and analytics systems including Splunk, Guardium, and VMware - Strong foundation in identity and access management, authentication technologies (F5, PIV/smart card, VLDAP), and enterprise directory integration - Knowledge of federal IT security standards including FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, EO 14028, and OMB M-22-09 - Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises enterprise infrastructure - Capability to plan, test, and scale deployments in high-availability enterprise environments - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to present to senior government officials

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and sustain the IRS enterprise cybersecurity reference architecture based on Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program requirements - Act as the primary architecture consultant to IRS CTO and CIO-level leadership on cybersecurity strategies, technology investments, and modernization roadmaps - Lead planning and design endeavors for CDM capability implementation across asset management, identity credentialing, network security, and data protection domains - Provide technical guidance across all five ZTA pillars: identity, device, network, application, and data - Assess and recommend innovative cybersecurity technologies for integration into the IRS hybrid cloud/on-premises ecosystem - Identify and spearhead tool consolidation initiatives to minimize redundancy and technical debt across the security tool stack - Engage in architecture review boards, technical working groups, and governance committees - Create and uphold architecture documentation, design artifacts, and technical standards - Ensure security-by-design is integrated into all IRS systems, applications, and cloud migrations - Assist in assessing Palo Alto product integrations (Prisma, XSIAM) and Microsoft O365 G5 security suite enhancements including DLP and MCAS

At Broadway Ventures, we are actively pursuing a federal cybersecurity project with the Internal Revenue Service and are looking for a seasoned Cybersecurity Enterprise Architect to join our team as a Key Personnel designee. This role will be positioned directly within the IRS IT Cybersecurity Engineering & Architecture Branch, acting as the chief technical adviser to senior IRS leadership. You will play a crucial role in driving enterprise-wide cybersecurity modernization initiatives in a highly visible capacity within one of the largest and most complex federal IT environments. We offer a hybrid work model based in New Carrollton, MD, along with a competitive salary ranging from $250,000.00 to $275,000.00 per year, comprehensive benefits including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), and paid time off.
