Requirements
Must:
- 2-5+ years of practical IT experience, with 2-3 years in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) setting
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft ecosystems: Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure
- Proficient in firewalls, switches, and networking principles (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs)
- Experience in virtualization technologies, specifically Hyper-V and/or VMware
- Familiarity with Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) and Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools like ConnectWise and Datto
- Reliable means of transportation for local client visits
- Excellent communication abilities and professional demeanor when interacting with clients
- Capability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, evolving MSP environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, VMware) are advantageous but not mandatory
- Knowledge of VoIP systems or modern cloud-first infrastructure is a bonus
Responsibilities
- Serve as Tier 1, 2, or 3 technical support for escalated and complex issues, based on skill level
- Design and implement infrastructure and cloud solutions for small to mid-sized businesses
- Maintain and support environments including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, virtualization (Hyper-V/VMware), firewalls, networking equipment, and backups
- Conduct on-site visits for project work, assessments, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with account managers to align IT strategy with the business objectives of clients
- Document client environments and adhere to best practices for security and standardization
- Mentor junior team members and assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support when necessary
