Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable position
- Strong SQL knowledge and familiarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle)
- Experience in constructing and managing data warehouses and analytics-ready datasets
- Solid grasp of revenue, cost, and margin analysis
- Experience developing pricing or financial models based on real-world data
- Proficient in Python or similar programming languages for data processing and automation
- Ability to collaborate across functions and communicate effectively with both technical and commercial groups
- Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Exposure to big data tools or distributed processing environments
- Knowledge of BI and reporting tools
- Experience in logistics, transportation, SaaS, or other industries focused on margins
- Previous involvement in customer-facing commercial or pricing discussions
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines for operational and financial data flows
- Collaborate with the IT department to develop and sustain the data warehouse
- Oversee core databases to guarantee data accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Implement validation, reconciliation, and quality control measures for data
- Integrate data from various internal and external sources, including APIs
- Automate workflows through scripting when necessary
- Conduct detailed analyses related to revenue, costs, and margins
- Develop and maintain customer pricing models utilizing operational and financial data
- Analyze customer profitability and recognize opportunities for pricing and margin optimization
- Aid forecasting, pricing scenarios, and ad-hoc commercial analyses
- Engage in customer-facing pricing meetings and reviews
- Prepare clear pricing analyses and recommendations for customers and internal stakeholders
- Transform complex data into understandable insights for non-technical audiences
- Collaborate closely with finance, operations, and leadership on margin and revenue initiatives
Description
At Broad Reach, we are looking for a Data Engineer to become a vital member of our expanding data team. This position uniquely combines hands-on data engineering, commercial analytics, and customer-focused pricing efforts. You will be instrumental in designing and maintaining data pipelines and warehouse structures while leveraging that data to build pricing models, analyze margins, and facilitate customer pricing discussions. This role has a significant impact on our business, as the accuracy of data, technical execution, and business insights directly contribute to our revenue and profitability. We offer a remote work environment and a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 per year.
