Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in software engineering at a mid to senior level
- Proven track record in fast-paced startup environments, adept at working with minimal bureaucratic processes
- Expertise in AI-centric development platforms such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools
- Practical experience in creating or setting up AI agents and automation systems
- Capacity to swiftly navigate unfamiliar codebases and provide effective solutions autonomously
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Willingness to collaborate during Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours
Responsibilities
- Perform a thorough technical evaluation of an early-stage AI startups current codebase and technical framework
- Create and execute scalable project workflows along with documentation to enhance team collaboration
- Set up and fine-tune AI-assisted development environments (including Claude Code) for multiple contributors
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs and system challenges, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions
- Provide guidance on technical architecture choices suitable for rapid product development in early-stage settings
- Offer ongoing engineering assistance as new features and capabilities are prioritized across various projects

This role is designed for a talented, self-motivated AI engineering consultant who can act as a vital technical advisor. We emphasize that this is not merely an execution role; our ideal candidate contributes significantly by identifying challenges, diagnosing multifaceted issues, establishing robust technical foundations, and empowering our team to proceed efficiently. Initially, we anticipate a commitment of 2-8 hours per week, with the clear potential for expansion as our initiatives grow.
