Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 10 years of substantial hands-on experience in Java Core Development, ideally with Java 17 or higher
- Proficient in back-end development and basic front-end development using JavaScript
- Familiarity with messaging systems such as AMQ, Kafka, or IBM MQ
- Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of financial concepts related to equities and equity derivatives, including trading workflows with FIX protocol
- Highly organized with a strong desire to learn and develop professionally
- At least a Bachelors degree in a relevant field
- Experience in developing trading platforms, such as Order Management systems or market data systems, is advantageous
- Prior engagement with trading desks and collaboration with traders, quants, and risk management teams is a plus
- Experience with QuestDB and familiarity with distributed cash operations is beneficial
- Knowledge of Quod (OMS) and Murex would be considered a bonus
- Ability to work effectively with business users in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong multitasking skills
Responsibilities
- Engage in hands-on development as a Front Office Java Developer, utilizing Java and potentially Python
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain both front-end and back-end systems
- Participate in the design and implementation of software solutions for trading platforms
- Utilize messaging bus technologies to ensure smooth data flow and communication
- Conduct database management and develop SQL queries to support financial applications
- Strive to understand trade workflows and financial products to inform development processes
- Adapt to changing demands and maintain productivity in a fast-paced working environment
- Contribute actively to team discussions and present ideas for improvements
- Support troubleshooting and debugging efforts for existing systems
