Requirements
Must:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to create system specifications, design requirements, test evaluation planning documents, and technical publications and reports.
- Understanding of SAN fundamentals, including virtual machine and LUN provisioning, snapshots, and zoning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- DOD 8570 IAT level II certification is mandatory (e.g., CompTIA Security+ce).
- Experience with Splunk for logging and monitoring and proficiency in scripting is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) networking and security accreditation requirements, such as Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure solutions, emphasizing VMware vSphere and NetApp/Vast storage systems.
- Manage, optimize, and uphold the Rubrik enterprise backup and disaster recovery solution.
- Assist with Department-wide IT transition initiatives, ensuring smooth integration with Corporate Services.
- Develop and sustain thorough documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system design specifications.
- Ensure adherence to security protocols as outlined by the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) package.
- Work collaboratively with the Help Desk and various Department Points of Contact to promptly resolve intricate customer infrastructure issues.

We are Bowhead, a forward-thinking company located in Dahlgren, VA, seeking a Virtualization/Storage Engineer to join our expanding team. In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle management of our core VMware, Enterprise Storage (NetApp/Vast), and Rubrik Backup environments. We provide Operation & Maintenance (O&M) support to the NSWC Dahlgren Division for corporate solutions on the Research Development Testing and Evaluation (RDT&E) network.
