Requirements
Must:
- BA/BS in English or a related field
- 5-8 years of experience in technical writing
- Proven background in editing technical documents in a government setting
- Familiarity with scientific and technical subjects
- Strong editing skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Effective communication skills with all levels of personnel and external contacts
- Ability to lift 10-15 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform twisting, bending, and squatting
- US Citizenship for Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Research and confirm factual information from various sources
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between text and graphical elements
- Rephrase and clarify sentences to enhance understanding while preserving original meaning
- Collaborate with authors to address inconsistencies in factual content
- Provide technical guidance on diverse publications with varying styles
- Reject documents that do not meet quality standards
- Ensure all submitted documents are free of errors
- Manage access to sensitive office computer files and software programs
Description
We are Bowhead, seeking a skilled Technical Writer/Editor to join us in supporting the upcoming ATC Data Collection proposal at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse technical publications while working collaboratively with our dedicated team. We prioritize quality and accuracy in our documents and provide competitive compensation ranging from $70K to $95K, based on experience. A security clearance at the Secret level is required, and US Citizenship is a prerequisite for this position.
