Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Associates degree
- 3 to 5 years of experience in proofreading, editing, and formatting technical documentation
- Masters degree preferred
- Experience with technical writing or related instructions and procedures
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of military supply chain processes and product life-cycle management
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of employees and external contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Capability to stand, walk, twist, bend, and squat periodically
- Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance, US Citizenship required
Responsibilities
- Develop diagrams, charts, and graphs to enhance user understanding
- Manipulate graphics and visuals for inclusion in documentation
- Edit and review drafts for format, clarity, and compliance with editorial standards
- Create and maintain templates, DTDs, EDDs, and structural applications
- Participate in project meetings along with validation and verification efforts
- Track documentation for development, planning, and scheduling needs
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy and clarity of technical content
- Promptly communicate challenges or issues to leadership
- Interface with desktop publishers, logisticians, multimedia personnel, and SMEs
- Maintain detailed records
- Participate in validation and verification events
- Record and distribute meeting minutes
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned
Description
