Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science degree mandatory
- At least five (5) years of experience in systems testing within a weapon systems context
- Familiarity with DoD and DoN acquisition processes and lifecycle requirements
- Understanding of systems and software engineering best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced and dynamic environments
- Experience working independently and collaboratively across military and contracting organizations
- Knowledge of gun systems or weapon systems integration is preferred
- Proficiency in defining tasks, developing estimates, and creating realistic schedules
- Capability to meet predefined goals and coordinate with various stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment, able to function both independently and within a team
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks like standing, walking, twisting, and bending
- Must possess a current Secret level security clearance and be a U.S. citizen
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with various engineering teams across NSWCDD, NSWC Port Hueneme, NAVSEA sponsors, and SUW MP systems engineers
- Document design decisions, configurations, and technical baselines for systems and subsystems
- Verify and validate system requirements through effective planning and execution of testing and evaluation activities
- Adapt requirements as needed to accommodate changing system demands and sponsor directions
- Develop validation methods and create relevant systems engineering documentation for program sponsor delivery
- Ensure alignment of the Gun Mission Module with LCS Mission Package objectives by coordinating with SUW MP systems engineers and NAVSEA stakeholders
- Evaluate operational performance criteria and suggest enhancements for system performance and mission efficacy
- Formulate requirements for modifications, upgrades, and integration of advanced technologies for the Gun Mission Module
- Apply best practices in systems engineering throughout the process of requirements definition, decomposition, design, and implementation based on customer needs
- Clearly communicate system plans, technical advancements, and performance outcomes in both written and verbal forms
- Support the integration and testing of hardware and software changes at NSWCDD and other Department of Defense test sites
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Working Groups (WGs), Program Review Panels (PRPs), and Project Control Panels (PCPs) to assist with technical reviews, certification processes, and program decision points
- Professionally interface with government agencies, contractors, military personnel, and technical authorities to clarify program intents, identify challenges, and devise solutions
