Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant technical discipline
- Five years of professional experience as a technical writer
- Two years of supervisory or program management experience within the industry
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, documents, and specifications
- Familiarity with photo editing software
- Expertise in editing and formatting Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat PDF documents
- Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Effective communication skills for interaction with all levels of personnel and external stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal abilities and sound judgment, capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand, walk, and perform bending and twisting motions as required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance; US citizenship is mandatory for this clearance
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and enforcing style guidelines and standards for documents and illustrations
- Serve as a mentor and lead for other team members
- Collaborate with teams to gain a deep understanding of scientific and technical information and documentation needs
- Gather documentation requirements from internal teams
- Produce high-quality documentation that adheres to applicable standards and is suitable for the intended audience
- Develop charts, diagrams, and graphs to enhance user comprehension with minimal supervision
- Standardize content across documentation and presentation libraries
- Create easy-to-understand documentation that meets standards and aligns with the goals of the target audience
