Requirements
Must:
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of proven experience in the administration of Linux-based servers and workstations
- Strong Linux system management skills
- Experience with hardware from HP and Dell
- Must possess and maintain a DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at the time of hire
- Demonstrated ability to work in environments with rapidly changing job priorities
- Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret level
- US Citizenship is required for this contract
- Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically
Responsibilities
- Provide technical troubleshooting and comprehensive consulting for system operations
- Collaborate within a team responsible for the administration and management of servers and end-user workstations
- Analyze, design, and implement modifications to system software to enhance performance, correct errors, or meet specific requirements
- Participate in planning for new hardware acquisitions and develop operating policies
- Interact with vendors, educate clients, and communicate effectively with other projects within the organization
- Work closely with scientists and engineers to assist them in utilizing workstations and servers for computationally intensive tasks
- Support individual user workstations and associated software
- Provide assistance with application installation, license management, software tracking and distribution, and backup/recovery of system configurations and user files
- Assist users with application processes and approve user access
