Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of ten (10+) years in Linux-based server and workstation administration
- High School Diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a must
- Must fulfill DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification at hiring time (e.g., Security+)
- Proficient troubleshooting skills in RHEL 7/8/9 OS and basic networking fundamentals, particularly TCP/IP and IP configuration
- Familiarity with security guidelines and policies (DISA STIGs) and relevant tools (Evaluate-STIG, STIG-Manager)
- Experience with Tenable suite of products (Security Center, Nessus Scanner, Nessus Agent) is advantageous
- Expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8.x; RHEL 7.x and/or RHEL 9.x is a plus)
- Knowledge of corporate services including DNS, SMTP, Splunk, centralized patching solutions like Red Hat Satellite, and automation tools like Ansible Tower/AWX
- Understanding of Single Sign-On solutions like RHSSO and virtualization platforms such as VMWare/VSphere/VCenter is a plus
- Proven experience in managing installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment with shifting priorities
- Experience with Service Now or a similar ticket management system
- Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and periodically twist, bend, and squat
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret level; US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and architecture of RDT&E solutions focused on Red Hat Satellite and Ansible orchestration
- Design and implement Red Hat Satellite and Ansible solutions
- Develop Ansible playbooks for automation purposes
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards
- Provide expert troubleshooting for the NSWCDD Command
- Oversee engineers utilizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration experience
- Automate installation methods and system imaging, including Kickstart/Ansible
- Apply cryptographic knowledge to set up PKI for digital certificates management
- Implement DISA STIG and work within Configuration-Managed Environments
- Analyze, design, and implement enhancements to system software for improved performance
- Plan new hardware acquisitions and collaborate with vendors
- Educate customers and coordinate with other projects
- Assist engineers in using workstations and servers effectively for complex problems
- Support application installations, license management, and software distribution/recovery
- Utilize essential tools for file handling and command-line tasks
- Operate running systems, manage virtual machines, and control services
- Configure local storage and file systems including attributes like permissions and encryption
- Deploy and maintain systems, including core service updates and software installations
- Manage user and group authentication through a centralized directory
- Configure security measures, including basic firewall and SELinux settings
- Set up networking configurations and kernel runtime parameters
- Generate reports on system utilization
- Employ shell scripting to automate system maintenance tasks
- Configure system logging and provide networking services such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SMTP, SSH, and NTP.
