Requirements
Must:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Bachelors degree is mandatory
- BICSI RCDD certification is essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD for infrastructure design
- Strong abilities in troubleshooting and critical thinking
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
- Capable of producing clear and concise project reports
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a larger team
- Physical capability to lift 10-20 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods
- Must maintain a Top Secret security clearance and be a US citizen
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits for data gathering and assessment of telecommunications systems
- Identify and draft a Scope of Work (SOW) detailing project specifics, including milestones and progress measurement
- Oversee the Install Team concerning each design project
- Provide monthly progress reports to management, highlighting issues or delays
- Ensure designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and best practices such as ANSI/TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC
- Daily update of design notes on a cloud-based platform (ServiceNow)
- Create Bill of Materials (BOMs) from our Information Management Warehouse (IMW) database
- Develop telecommunications rack layouts outlining equipment positioning and cabling connections
- Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) checks to confirm compliance with structured cabling standards
- Supply documentation to the Infrastructure Team detailing cable pathways and installation specifics
- Attend MILCOM meetings as needed to assess telecommunications requirements for new projects
