Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited institution
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, with potential for substitution based on exceptional qualifications
- Strong background in metrology science and calibration
- Proficiency in hardware problem identification and resolution related to high-reliability system design and integration
- Some experience with software is preferred
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal abilities and sound judgment for independent and collaborative work
- Physically capable of lifting up to 25 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods
- Must have the ability to twist, bend, and squat as necessary
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret level security clearance; US citizenship is required
Responsibilities
- Execute tasks with minimal guidance from management
- Review and interpret specifications for testing, measurement, and diagnostics equipment
- Identify and record Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) measurements and calculate accuracy ratios, generating Calibration Measurement Reports as needed
- Conduct research on TMDE, pinpoint obsolete equipment, and provide replacement recommendations
- Assess TMDE support under the Navy Metrology and Calibration Program, liaising with NSWC Crane, NSWC Corona, and clients regarding assigned workloads
- Create and maintain data records to facilitate technical reviews and analysis
- Perform additional tasks as required

At Bowhead, we are seeking a Metrology Engineer to become part of our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center located in Crane, IN. In this role, you will offer detailed technical and engineering support to the Strategic Systems Guidance, Navigation, and Control Division.
