Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of proven experience in system administration for Linux-based workstations
- Strong knowledge of Linux system management
- Experience with HP and Dell hardware
- Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF) criteria or possess Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification upon hire
- Proven ability to adapt in an environment with rapidly shifting priorities
- Ability to lift 10-15 pounds
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
- Able to twist, bend, and squat occasionally
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory for this position
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical problem-solving and thorough consulting for system operations
- Collaborate with a team focused on the management of servers and end-user workstations in both classified and unclassified network settings
- Analyze, design, and implement system software modifications to enhance performance, rectify issues, or meet specific needs
- Take part in planning hardware purchases and developing operational policies
- Engage with vendors, educate clients, and collaborate with other projects within the organization
- Work alongside scientists and engineers to leverage workstations and servers for computationally intense issues
- Provide support for individual user workstations and related software
- Assist in application installation, license management, software tracking and distribution, and backup/recovery of system configurations and user data files
- Help users apply for accounts, facilitating user access approval
