Requirements
Must:
- Three to five years of experience in networking, IT, or related fields preferred
- Bachelors degree required
- CompTIA Security+ CE Certification needed
- Strong knowledge of VMware and virtual machine settings
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, and Python
- Exceptional documentation and communication abilities
- Proven capability to troubleshoot complex issues independently
- Comprehensive understanding of system of systems concepts, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and complex system architectures
- Extensive expertise with Linux, particularly RHEL and Ubuntu, and Windows operating systems
- Desired skills include AWS expertise in BL9 or BL10 environments, programming or development experience, VMware or IaaS certifications, and familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and resolve issues within the CIAT systems virtualized environment utilizing VMware
- Set up and manage virtual machines (VMs) to ensure peak performance and effective resource use
- Automate system administration functions using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, and Python
- Create and sustain documentation related to infrastructure processes and protocols
- Collaborate effectively with team members to address technical challenges and exchange knowledge
- Independently resolve complex issues with minimal supervision
- Retain a thorough understanding of the CIAT system of systems architecture, IaaS components, and intricate system interdependencies
- Install, configure, and support both Linux (primarily RHEL and Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems.
Description
We are seeking a CIAT Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Dahlgren, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and support of the CIAT systems foundational infrastructure. We value self-motivated problem-solvers who are eager to learn and committed to delivering outstanding technical support. Our environment encourages collaborative learning and innovation, ensuring the optimal stability, security, and performance of the CIAT infrastructure. Light travel may be required for deployments and maintenance activities. Please note that a current Secret security clearance and US citizenship are mandatory for this position.
