Requirements
Must:
- Over ten years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or platform leadership, with at least three years in a managerial role.
- Proven expertise as a hands-on data engineer or architect, capable of designing, coding, and reviewing intricate data solutions.
- Proficient in modern data stacks including Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with integration tools such as FiveTran or Glue.
- Strong background in data modeling, orchestrating ETL or ELT processes, and implementing data governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to design secure, compliant, high-performance data architectures.
- In-depth understanding of data observability, monitoring, and lineage tools.
- Familiarity with APIs, event-driven architectures, and near real-time data pipelines.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of translating technical solutions into strategic business value.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; a degree in information science, data management, or computer science is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Shape and lead the vision for enterprise data architecture, pipelines, and governance while being a hands-on technical contributor.
- Architect and create enterprise-grade data pipelines and models that support downstream analytics and GenAI-driven insights.
- Actively engage in developing scalable data solutions using dbt, Apache Airflow, FiveTran/AWS Glue, and Snowflake while optimizing for reliability and performance.
- Ensure data quality across all stages by verifying completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and lineage from ingestion to delivery.
- Collaborate with analytics, AI, and business teams to deliver valuable data assets for BI dashboards, predictive models, and generative AI applications.
- Lead cross-functional teams to define and evolve data standards and architectures in partnership with product owners and governance teams.
- Drive experimentation by developing proofs of concept and minimum viable products to assess new technologies and patterns.
- Establish and uphold data performance, quality, and security policies that align with enterprise governance and regulatory requirements.
- Act in a mentorship capacity, guiding engineers while contributing to complex design and code reviews.
- Steer the resolution of critical production issues, managing technical challenges that require immediate attention.
