Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of experience in supporting cyber operations, cyber training environments, or enterprise IT infrastructure, particularly in virtualized or lab-based settings
- Proficiency in building, configuring, and maintaining Linux and Windows systems within cyber ranges, labs, or training environments
- Familiarity with Active Directory fundamentals including domains, trusts, OUs, GPOs, DNS, and permissions; experience with SIEM tools like Security Onion, logging and monitoring solutions, and sensor placement; knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V
- Background in supporting cyber exercises, training events, or operational testing environments, especially during troubleshooting and recovery phases
- Experience utilizing scripting or automation tools such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible for range deployment and upkeep
- Understanding of virtual networking concepts including VLANs, routing, firewalls, and network segmentation
- Strong analytical skills to assess intricate technical problems and troubleshoot challenges in high-pressure environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively with exercise planners, scenario developers, red or blue teams, and infrastructure engineers, plus document range architectures, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Active TS/SCI clearance with readiness to undergo a polygraph examination
- Bachelors degree
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, operate, and maintain cyber range environments that facilitate training, exercises, and mission rehearsals for both defensive and offensive cyber operations
- Develop realistic, scalable, and secure virtual environments for training cyber personnel, testing tools and tactics, and executing intricate cyber exercise scenarios
- Collaborate closely with exercise planners, scenario developers, red and blue teams, and infrastructure engineers to ensure that ranges mirror real-world operational conditions and mission goals
- Engineer and configure virtualized and containerized environments that emulate enterprise, cloud, and mission-specific networks for cyber training and exercise execution
- Build, configure, and maintain comprehensive cyber range infrastructure, including virtual machines, networks, enclaves, and additional support services to fulfill full-spectrum training objectives
- Integrate tools, scripts, and platforms utilized by red, blue, and white teams, and provide support during exercise execution, troubleshooting technical problems, restoring environments, and adjusting configurations in real time
- Work with scenario developers to integrate scenario injects, adversary behaviors, and data flows that align with training objectives
- Document range architectures, configurations, and standard operating procedures, and facilitate ongoing enhancements of range capabilities, automation, and scalability
