Requirements
Must:
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering
- 3+ years in direct Department of War (DoW) management or leadership roles
- Proficiency in infrastructure components, including fiber and copper cabling, ISP/OSP networks, and various transport technologies
- Knowledge in network planning and design strategies for enterprise wireless local area networks (WLAN), including RF design and security
- Experience in designing network services such as timing synchronization and logging services
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
- Active Secret security clearance
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- DoW 8140, DCWF compliance, with certifications like CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, or CISSP
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of wired and wireless engineers, providing guidance and managing project timelines
- Maintain effective communication with the Program Manager and stakeholders, sharing updates on project status and alignment with DoW goals
- Ensure adherence to DoW 8140, DCWF standards, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
- Manage the documentation of infrastructure designs and configurations to maintain consistency across projects
- Develop and execute network planning strategies for enterprise wireless LAN solutions, incorporating advanced RF site surveys
- Design, implement, monitor, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN systems
- Design, configure, troubleshoot, and sustain TCP/IP networks, encompassing hardware like switches and routers along with software and services
- Collaborate on the utilization of 802.11 wireless standards, focusing on site surveying and RF design methods
- Oversee network services ensuring reliability in timing synchronization, logging, and quality of service operations
- Provide technical assessment of vulnerabilities in wired and wireless infrastructures and propose mitigation strategies
- Enhance network health using tools such as SolarWinds and Wireshark
