Requirements
Must:
- Over 8 years of experience in network engineering
- At least 3 years of leadership experience within the Department of the Navy (DoW)
- Proficient with infrastructure components, including fiber and copper cabling, ISP/OSP networks, and physical transport technologies
- Skilled in designing enterprise wireless local area networks (WLAN) and wireless site surveys, including RF design and 802.11 standards
- Experience in formulating infrastructure and network services, such as timing synchronization and logging services
- Understanding of network troubleshooting tools, including SolarWinds and Wireshark
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelors degree in a related field
- DoD 8140 Certification, such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or CISSP Certification
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team of wired and wireless engineers, providing guidance and managing project timelines
- Effectively communicate with the Program Manager and stakeholders, presenting project updates and ensuring alignment with DoW goals
- Ensure adherence to DoW 8140 and Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) standards and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
- Supervise the documentation of infrastructure designs, diagrams, and configurations for accuracy and consistency
- Direct network planning initiatives, including enterprise WLAN design and advanced RF site survey methodologies
- Design, implement, monitor, and sustain enterprise network systems, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, data center links, and SD-WAN solutions
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain TCP/IP networks, ensuring operational efficiency across hardware and software components
- Collaborate on deploying 802.11 wireless standards, focusing on site surveys and RF design
- Manage network services such as timing synchronization, logging mechanisms, and QoS to ensure reliability
- Provide technical assessment on vulnerabilities in wired and wireless systems, conducting cybersecurity scans, and recommending solutions
- Optimize network health using management tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark
