Requirements
Must:
- Experience in cybersecurity, hardware, or embedded systems, through academic, lab, or project work
- Familiarity with Linux distributions and basic system administration
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and the OSI model
- Basic knowledge of hardware concepts, such as FPGA, microcontrollers, firmware, and system architecture
- Capability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Expected to achieve a Bachelors degree by Summer 2027
- Experience in programming or scripting with C, C++, Python, Bash, or VHDL and Verilog (preferred)
- Experience with FPGA, embedded systems, or firmware development (preferred)
- Experience using debugging or analysis tools such as GDB, logic analyzers, or Wireshark (preferred)
- Familiarity with penetration testing concepts or adversarial methodologies (preferred)
- Knowledge of system hardening and vulnerability mitigation techniques (preferred)
- Current Secret clearance (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of hardware and cybersecurity professionals
- Conduct evaluations of secure systems for Department of Defense (DoD) clients
- Support the testing of systems against NIST 800-53 Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Raise the Bar (RTB) security requirements
- Focus on areas including low-level hardware and firmware interactions, Mandatory and Discretionary Access Controls, data flow enforcement, secure boot, and firmware integrity validation
- Assist in executing approved test cases and documenting findings
- Contribute to the development of technical reports
- Gain practical experience in hardware test environments, automation scripting, and secure architecture analysis
- Build foundational knowledge from experienced engineers
