Requirements
Must:
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or analytics engineering
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data analysis and transformation
- Experience with Python programming, including scripting and data manipulation
- Understanding of distributed data processing concepts such as Spark fundamentals, including partitioning, caching, and shuffle
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Capacity to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or Mathematics
Responsibilities
- Construct and enhance ELT or ETL pipelines utilizing Databricks Notebooks, Delta Live Tables (DLT), Workflows, and Unity Catalog
- Execute data ingestion, transformation, and quality assurance processes using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake best practices, including incremental mergers, ACID transactions, or SCD patterns
- Partner with data scientists, analysts, and mission stakeholders to comprehend requirements and deliver reliable and governed data assets
- Assist in managing data platform operations, monitoring pipeline performance, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to cost efficiency, including utilizing the Photon engine
- Participate in implementing medallion architecture with bronze, silver, and gold layers in cloud storage environments such as Azure ADLS or AWS S3
- Create documentation for pipelines, data models, and processes to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing
- Stay informed about and apply emerging Databricks capabilities to advance client missions
