Requirements
Must:
- 3+ years of experience in Databricks administration, cloud platform operations, data platform engineering, or DevOps roles
- 3+ years of experience in scripting or automation using platforms such as Python or Bash for administrative functions
- Proficiency in administering Databricks, including account console, workspace settings, Unity Catalog, and cluster management
- Familiarity with identity access management practices, including SCIM provisioning and role-based access control
- Knowledge of AWS services, including S3 storage, networking, IAM, and security configurations
- Experience with Terraform or IaC tools, REST APIs, and monitoring and observability principles
- Strong collaboration skills with technical teams and stakeholders
- Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client needs
- Bachelors degree
Responsibilities
- Oversee account and workspace administration, creating and managing workspaces and configuring settings
- Manage identity and access controls, provisioning users, groups, and service principals, and enforcing least-privilege access
- Implement and govern Unity Catalog features, ensuring data security and compliance
- Administer compute resources, managing cluster policies, instance pools, job clusters, and serverless options
- Handle infrastructure as code deployments using Terraform and the Databricks Terraform Provider across various environments
- Design and automate management for notebooks, clusters, Delta Live Tables pipelines, and workflows
- Monitor platform health and performance, optimizing costs and setting budget alerts
- Enforce best practices for security and compliance, including encryption and private networking
- Automate administrative tasks utilizing Databricks REST APIs, Terraform, and scripting languages
- Troubleshoot complex issues, providing Tier-3 support and maintaining disaster recovery strategies
- Mentor junior team members, conduct platform reviews, document processes, and stay updated on Databricks features
