Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience managing multiple teams (ideally 2–4+) within a software engineering organization.
- Strong technical background enabling deep dives into architecture, design reviews, and assumption challenges.
- Exceptional communication abilities to articulate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and scaling engineering processes, including planning, estimation, release management, and quality practices.
- Demonstrated success in hiring and nurturing high-performing teams, including managers.
- Capability to balance speed and quality, making clear tradeoffs in response to shifting priorities.
- Experience with integrations (APIs, partner systems, data management) and familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS and enterprise reporting.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate Engineering Managers and senior engineers across three teams, focusing on career advancement, feedback, performance, and recruitment.
- Manage execution across various concurrent initiatives, including planning, sequencing, dependency management, delivery predictability, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Support/Operations, and leadership to convert business objectives into technical roadmaps.
- Ensure the engineering system remains robust, overseeing SDLC, code review criteria, CI/CD practices, reliability, incident management, and operational excellence.
- Shape technical strategy with architects and technical leads, focusing on system design, scalability, security, and management of technical debt.
- Enhance communication and alignment through clear status updates, stakeholder communications, and transparent prioritization decisions.
- Foster a strong team culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
