Requirements
Must:
- At least 5 years of experience in technical writing
- Proven experience in creating content for damage control and/or system manuals
- Capability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings
- Basic understanding of watercraft vessels and their components
- Preferred B.S. degree in English or Technical Writing
- Proficient in computer applications, ideally Arbortext (Epic) Editor, Adobe FrameMaker, and Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
- Create technical manuals in accordance with government and military specifications
- Analyze and understand government contracts and standards
- Act as the lead for shipboard validation
- Input data into the configuration status accounting system
- Oversee Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
- Investigate and understand maintenance tasks and operational procedures for commercial equipment on vessels
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
- Be available for travel related to job functions, including research for publications and shipboard validation
