Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited program. - Over 5 years of relevant work experience or a suitable mix of technical education and practical experience. - Proficiency in MS Office Suite. - Experience in aerospace and defense across various engineering domains such as avionics, radar, sensors, hydro mechanical systems, mechanisms, structural design, or reliability and maintainability is preferred. - Military experience is a plus, though not mandatory. - Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

- Assess customer requirements and create a reliability engineering program to meet customer reliability goals. - Allocate top-level reliability requirements to design teams and conduct reliability predictions to monitor performance. - Analyze expected product usage and evaluate the cumulative impact on final system reliability of individual components. - Conduct failure mode and effects analysis while developing mathematical models to identify components that present high failure and safety risks and recommend design modifications. - Create computer models to evaluate, predict, and optimize design to enhance system reliability. - Participate actively in design teams, providing insights and recommendations to ensure reliability objectives are successfully achieved. - Engage with customers and management during major design reviews to communicate reliability insights and suggestions. - Define test protocols for units needing environmental testing, setting specific objectives and criteria for success. - Contribute to proposals for customer submissions and assess subcontractor proposals related to reliability programs, providing evaluations for consideration. - Review engineering specifications and design documents, suggesting modifications aimed at increasing reliability while considering cost and other performance standards. - Observe tests conducted at supplier, plant, or field sites to assess reliability metrics, such as failure rates and their causes. - Monitor failure data from product users to evaluate in-field reliability performance and devise strategies for product enhancement.
