Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience leading embedded software development, verification, or compliance activities.
- At least 3 years of experience with RTCA DO-178(B/C) Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification.
- Over 5 years of experience navigating the software development life cycle processes.
- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science is preferred.
- Skilled in data analysis and decision-making best practices.
- Familiarity with software development standards and guidelines for quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee a team of engineers focused on the certification process for aircraft systems and components, prioritizing safety.
- Initiate and lead process enhancement initiatives, working with leadership to define improvement objectives.
- Develop software certification requirements specific to programs to communicate to suppliers.
- Monitor project advancement and performance, ensuring timely delivery of engineering solutions that meet safety and certification targets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align system definitions and facilitate the translation of system-level requirements into software specifications that are traceable to design and testing.
- Formulate and implement engineering strategies that underscore safety and reliability, reflecting our commitment to quality aircraft.
- Act as the key contact for FAA representatives, promoting clear communication and cooperation throughout the certification process.
- Work closely with the FAA to ensure compliance with stringent certification regulations and safety standards for aircraft designs.
- Oversee the assembly and submission of detailed technical documents required for FAA certification, ensuring high standards of accuracy and thoroughness.
- Mentor and nurture engineering personnel, fostering a strong understanding of safety protocols and certification methodologies for their professional development.
- Tackle intricate engineering challenges with a safety-first approach, utilizing data-driven decisions and industry best practices.
