Requirements
Must:
- At least 1 year of experience in software or hardware engineering, requirements, design, development, testing, and collaboration with software and hardware teams
- Minimum 1 year of experience using Linux
- Proficient in C and C++ programming for at least 1 year
- Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (preferred)
- 3 years of experience in C and C++ programming (preferred)
- Familiarity with embedded systems and/or bare metal programming on microcontrollers (preferred)
- Experience with concurrent hardware/software development (preferred)
- Knowledge of iterative and agile development methodologies (preferred)
- Understanding of serial data protocols such as HDLC, I2C, SPI (preferred)
- Experience in Python programming (preferred)
- Familiarity with Verilog and FPGAs (preferred)
- Comfortable using tools like git, JIRA, and Confluence (preferred)
- Awareness of satellite systems and components (preferred)
- Level 2: 1 or more years of relevant work experience or equivalent education
- Level 3: 3 or more years of relevant work experience or equivalent education
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hardware, control, and system engineers to define and develop software requirements, architectures, and designs for fault-tolerant spacecraft
- Rapidly prototype innovative software solutions to validate architectural concepts and assess technical risks
- Implement software designs in C/C++, integrate software components, devise and execute unit tests, and validate real-time embedded solutions on Hardware-in-the-Loop systems
- Assist in system verification and qualification, documenting outputs to ensure software meets mission-critical standards
- Manage all phases of software development and issue resolution from inception to post-launch support
- Work alongside hardware engineers to verify hardware-hardware and hardware-software interfaces
- Break down software development tasks into manageable segments for team distribution and monitor progress
- Conduct code reviews to ensure software correctness, efficiency, and compliance with our coding standards
