Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading software-related projects or technical teams
- At least 7 years of experience in embedded software architecture, development, or design
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada
- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science is preferred
- Familiarity with distributed and containerized software architecture
- Practical experience developing on Linux and Windows platforms
- Experience documenting software architecture using Model-based Systems Engineering tools like MSOSA
- Understanding of Open Architecture standards, particularly OMS
- Previous experience working in various software development environments across different security levels
- Experience in developing mission systems software for aircraft platforms
- Knowledge of software requirements, design, development, and testing processes
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and complex software build strategies
- Experience working within an Agile framework and using tools such as Jira
Responsibilities
- Direct activities to create, document, and sustain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of the Battlespace Picture roadmap and vision
- Lead the implementation of containerized software architecture across diverse hardware
- Apply open architecture principles like Open Mission Systems and Open Communication Standards using Universal Command and Control Interface
- Set boundaries for OMS subsystems, requirements, and service contracts
- Oversee code development and integrate complex software components into fully operational systems
- Manage the creation of software verification plans, test procedures, and environments, executing tests and documenting results
- Provide technical guidance for software projects and manage supplier activities
- Plan, implement, and record software R&D projects
- Monitor and assess software team and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project standards and industry regulations
- Mentor and train other team members
- Operate with minimal supervision
