Requirements

Must:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development certified under DO-178 - At least 3 years of hands-on experience with programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada - Over 3 years of familiarity with SAE Standard ARP4754A, RTCA DO-178 or DO-254 - Minimum of 3 years in embedded software development - At least 3 years of experience with software development lifecycles - Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science is preferred - 3 or more years experience working with compliance regulations such as those from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is desired - Experience assisting certification bodies, such as Designated Engineering Representatives or Airworthiness Representatives, is a plus - Knowledge of guidelines such as ARP4754A, ARP4761, or ARP5526C is advantageous - Familiarity with DO-178 and E-UM processes, including certification artifact preparation is beneficial

Responsibilities

- Develop and review software lifecycle documentation in accordance with DO-178B/C and applicable supplements - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including system engineering, suppliers, and certification authorities to ensure adherence to standards and resolve issues - Collaborate with stakeholders to define system-level requirements and translate them into actionable software requirements and models - Perform project and supplier management functions related to software development - Act as a subject matter expert in software domains, addressing system-specific issues, processes, and regulatory requirements - Create and review documents detailing architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems - Develop and review software verification plans, test procedures, and environments, executing and documenting test results - Select, adapt, and implement software processes, tools, and metrics - Conduct and document research and development projects related to software - Monitor and assess performance of software teams and suppliers to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards
