Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in an engineering discipline or 22 years of equivalent relevant experience
- Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance, or clearance active within the past 24 months (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Over 5 years of experience in leading efforts to analyze and convert requirements into system architecture, as well as hardware and software designs
- Experience functioning as an Agile Systems or Software Development Team Lead
- More than 5 years of familiarity with the DevSecOps lifecycle
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools)
- More than 5 years of knowledge in configuration management and collaboration tools such as Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne
- Proficient in scripting/programming languages utilized for automation and testing (e.g., Python, Bash) for 1+ years
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the software architecture focusing on interface clarity, stability, and versioning to reduce integration risks and ensure easy maintenance for production-type software
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to shape system definitions and oversee the transformation of system-level requirements into software specifications that satisfy customer, operational, and performance standards
- Manage software deliverables from suppliers/subcontractors to ensure compliance with team processes and integration criteria
- Facilitate agile delivery within the software engineering team through sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews/retrospectives, addressing impediments to progress
- Act as the Agile/Delivery leader for the software backlog prioritization in partnership with product/system owners, establish sprint objectives, and ensure timely provision of integration-ready increments
- Define, document, and enforce software integration contracts, data models, and message definitions in partnership with Integration & Test and Systems leads
- Ensure software is designed for testability: require unit, component, integration, SIL/HIL test artifacts with code submissions, include observability features, and establish diagnostic capabilities for failures
- Lead DevSecOps and CI/CD practices for the team ensuring pipelines support repeatable builds, automated tests, artifact traceability, and consistent deployments across development, integration, and testing environments
- Cooperate with Integration & Test to synchronize delivery timelines with integration increments and managed configuration baselines
- Drive verification & validation efforts for software components: support the creation of test strategies, assess test outcomes, and resolve defects collectively with the team
- Set and monitor delivery metrics (velocity, cycle time, quality metrics, technical debt) and utilize them to enhance predictability and quality
- Mentor and guide engineers on agile methodologies, test automation, CI/CD, code quality, and observability
- Contribute to managing risks and issues that impact software delivery and integration readiness; escalate when necessary to safeguard integration milestones
- Document integration outcomes, test results, and provide feedback for design evaluations and readiness assessments
