Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or computer science, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in IT network engineering
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and hardware
- Proficient problem solving and visualization skills
- Ability to implement, manage, and troubleshoot network devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers
- Familiarity with application transport and network infrastructure protocols
- Capable of creating precise network diagrams and documentation for communication system design
- Quick learner of new technologies and products, utilizing documentation and online resources
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all staff levels both within IT and across the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Active U.S. Security Clearance required (U.S. Citizenship mandated)
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage computer networks and related computing environments, including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations
- Safeguard data, software, and hardware by planning and implementing network security measures
- Diagnose and remedy hardware, software, and other network/system issues
- Replace defective network hardware components as necessary
- Oversee, configure, and monitor virus protection software and email applications
- Monitor network performance and determine necessary adjustments
- Collaborate with end-users to troubleshoot existing system and network challenges
- Operate master consoles to track network and computer system performance
- Coordinate network access and use
- Configure and test networking software, computer hardware, and operating systems
- Carry out disaster recovery operations and backups as required
