Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 9 or more years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- 5+ years of experience with Air Vehicle Systems
- 5+ years experience in aerodynamics, aeroelasticity, flutter, structural dynamics, modern control systems and/or finite element methods
- Preferred: 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Preferred: Active U.S. Security Clearance within the past 24 months
- Preferred: Experience in Laboratory Test, Flight Test and/or Flight Science domains
- Preferred: Experience leading teams on complex projects
- Preferred: Experience in engineering modeling and/or analysis with computer programming of analytical models, simulations, and/or data processing
- Preferred: Engineering experience with tactical fixed wing aircraft
- Preferred: Strong communication skills and customer focus
Responsibilities
- Take part and/or lead the development of air vehicle requirements for aeroelasticity encompassing flutter, divergence, freeplay, and rigidity
- Work in conjunction with airframe & subsystems design and analysis engineers to produce integrated aero and structural models for flight vehicle examination in a Model Based Engineering (MBE) setting
- Conduct analysis for flutter, divergence, aeroservoelasticity, freeplay, and rigidity to aid air vehicle design and stores integration
- Establish allowable flight envelopes and operational thresholds
- Formulate flight flutter test and ground vibration test plans
- Develop finite element models and validate against test outcomes
- Execute ground and/or flight test programs by establishing test requirements, providing data for pre-test analysis, overseeing testing, analyzing data, and documenting findings to support design and verification of vehicle and components
- Evaluate and endorse airframe and subsystems hardware packages for flight safety and ensure the air vehicle satisfies service conditions
- Supply data to contribute to the definition and documentation of structural design requirements for the products service life, ensuring compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards
- Present engineering data and results to management and clients during program-level reviews and other technical discussions
