Mid-Level Mission Operations Engineer - Millennium Space

- Direct a team of spacecraft and subsystem engineers during launch and early orbit activities to bring space vehicles into service - Serve as the primary technical authority during mission operations for both space and ground systems - Assist in all phases of the mission lifecycle, including proposal, design, integration, launch, and on-orbit operations - Establish ground and mission operations requirements, ensuring they are communicated effectively to the spacecraft team - Define mission concepts of operation and design reference missions - Enhance future vehicle designs by documenting lessons learned from on-orbit exercises - Support the design of ground segment infrastructure for command, mission planning, and data processing - Implement and evaluate fault detection, response, and autonomous operations for space vehicles - Develop methods of operational automation to decrease daily responsibilities of operators - Create and perform simulator tests to confirm mission and autonomy designs - Conduct in-factory tests to ensure compatibility of mission design with flight hardware - Execute critical ground segment testing, including RF compatibility testing and acceptance testing of ground assets - Form and lead teams to respond to anomalies in off-nominal conditions - Participate in customer briefings and debriefings for orbital events - Design and validate mission sequences for commissioning, payload checkout, and operations - Contribute to mission rehearsal events to train the mission team and confirm mission design
