Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in aerospace engineering or a related engineering or science field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within the aerospace industry, particularly with spacecraft systems
- Proven leadership and strong communication skills
- Experience with space systems engineering principles and methodologies
- Familiarity with program management practices and tools
- Knowledgeable in power, mass, and additional system budgets
- Proficient in requirements analysis and flow-down techniques
- Experienced in design verification and validation procedures
- Skilled in configuration management processes
- Background in satellite integration and testing procedures
- Familiarity with satellite in-orbit operations
- This role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, necessitating U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all components of spacecraft systems engineering, including preliminary concept development, trade studies, CONOPS definition, and requirement decomposition
- Collaborate with program and financial leadership to ensure effective program execution
- Utilize an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle-balanced solutions for space systems
- Understand functionalities and interfaces of spacecraft subsystems, developing integrated system designs and solutions
- Coordinate and communicate with subsystem engineering teams to ensure successful system execution
- Implement model-based systems engineering techniques for spacecraft system definition
- Engage in software integration and testing to validate mission functionality prior to operational deployment
- Analyze technical data to verify and sustain specific system configurations per established requirements
- Conduct various analyses to enhance spacecraft systems or system architecture
- Address and resolve cross-functional technical issues
- Enhance and refine systems engineering processes
- Mentor junior systems engineering and subsystem personnel.
