Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in an engineering field or 15 years of equivalent experience
- 10 years of experience in developing embedded real-time software
- 3 years of experience in programming with Ada
- 3 years of experience in programming with C#
- 2 years of experience in verifying Software Engineering requirements
- 5 years of experience leading small teams (10 individuals) on embedded software projects
- Familiarity with DO-178, DO-254, or MIL-882
- Experience managing avionics supplier-developed projects
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, documentation, and maintenance of intricate architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
- Drive the development of code and the integration of complex software components into a cohesive software system
- Create software verification plans, test procedures, and testing environments, executing tests and documenting results to confirm software system requirements are satisfied
- Lead a team of 10 Engineers in the development and integration of software components for a new Vehicle Management Systems Computers (VMSC) Tail Processor Card
- Guide 10 Engineers in creating black box tests for embedded software systems
- Provide technical leadership for software initiatives and supervise software supplier management tasks
- Direct the development, selection, adaptation, and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics
- Lead software research and development projects and estimation activities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in software domains and system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
- Monitor and assess software team and supplier performance to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards
- Train and mentor team members
- Act as the organizations spokesperson for advanced projects and programs
- Advise management and clients on advanced technical research studies

This position involves working on the VMS Computer (VMSC) Operational Flight Program (OFP) for the Engineering Manufacturing and Development (EMD) and Obsolescence contracts. Our teams are dedicated to developing and integrating an avionics software suite that enhances communication and control systems in the worlds first operational, carrier-based unmanned aircraft.
