Lead GNC Engineer

- Define mission requirements for Guidance, Navigation and Control and ensure their traceability and quality from system level to component level - Utilize multidisciplinary model data (aero, mass properties, propulsion) to develop and enhance a complex, nonlinear, six degrees of freedom simulation model - Employ various programming languages such as C, C++, FORTRAN, and Python for the development, implementation, integration, and testing of vehicle models and controllers - Design flight control laws utilizing modern linear control design methodologies and tools to meet design and performance objectives - Apply advanced nonlinear analyses to evaluate and refine control law designs - Conduct model validation against experimental data to enhance the accuracy of simulation environments - Develop additional controllers, limiters, mode logic, and signal shaping to ensure performance is bounded within all areas of the flight envelope - Collaborate with flight simulation and Vehicle Management Systems software engineers to integrate control laws into operational flight programs - Facilitate flight simulations including desktop, software, and real-time simulations - Assist in hardware-in-the-loop development and testing - Contribute to planning and execution of flight testing - Lead design reviews, analyses, simulations, and testing of components and systems to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations - Mentor and train other team members
