Requirements
Must:
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Top Secret security clearance is required after starting.
- Bachelors degree in an engineering or science discipline and 5+ years of relevant industry experience in spacecraft systems; Masters degree and 3+ years of related experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience. Level 4 requires a Bachelors and 9+ years or a Masters and 7+ years.
- At least 1 year of experience in areas such as space systems engineering principles, system budgets, requirements analysis, design verification, configuration management, and satellite integration processes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all facets of spacecraft systems engineering, including preliminary concept development, trade studies, CONOPS definition, and requirements management.
- Collaborate with program and financial leaders to ensure successful program execution.
- Utilize an interdisciplinary, cooperative approach to design, develop, and validate balanced solutions for space systems.
- Understand and integrate spacecraft subsystem functions and interfaces.
- Coordinate with subsystem engineering teams to secure successful system implementation.
- Employ model-based engineering techniques in defining the spacecraft system.
- Engage in software integration and testing to confirm mission viability prior to operational deployment.
- Analyze technical data and maintain specific system configurations as per operational demands.
- Conduct various analyses to enhance spacecraft systems or architectures.
- Address cross-functional technical challenges.
- Refine and develop systems engineering processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and subsystem staff.
