Requirements
Must:
- Over 8 years of software or systems engineering experience
- At least 3 years leading cloud migration or cloud-native transformation initiatives
- Proven experience transitioning enterprise applications to public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with architectural principles, including networking (VPC/VNet), identity and access management (IAM, SSO), storage solutions, computing systems, databases, and hybrid connectivity
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager templates
- Experience with container technologies and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE)
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Track record of leading cross-functional technical teams and managing diverse stakeholders
- Understanding of cloud security and compliance standards (CIS Benchmarks, NIST, FedRAMP, DoD SRG as necessary)
Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse team focused on cloud migrations, facilitating both direct application moves and support for product teams in their transitions
- Formulate and execute the application modernization strategy based on rationalization principles and migration frameworks
- Oversee hands-on migration processes to public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Mentor engineers and product teams on migration strategies, tools, and operational methodologies
- Provide reusable tools and guidance to streamline safe, repeatable migration practices
- Coordinate efforts across architects, operations, security, procurement, and other stakeholders to meet schedule and quality benchmarks
- Analyze application portfolios and propose migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor, replace) based on assessed risks, costs, and business advantages
- Monitor migration timelines, update leadership on progress, and ensure targeted outcomes regarding scalability, resiliency, and cost efficiency
