Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or 22 years of related work experience
- 14 years of experience in C, C++, or similar programming languages; familiarity with hardware design preferred
- 14 years of experience with real-time operating systems; experience with VxWorks or Linux is preferred
- 14 years of experience with software configuration management tools, Agile methodologies, and software metrics; knowledge of static code analysis and structural coverage is desirable
- 14 years of experience in vision and image processing, communications, and data bus analysis; competence in problem report management
Responsibilities
- Direct the design, development, analysis, and upkeep of software systems to adhere to industry, customer, and internal quality, safety, security, and certification standards
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to clarify system requirements and translate them into software specifications and models that fulfill customer and operational needs with documented traceability
- Supervise software system analysis to identify risks, issues, and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies throughout the software lifecycle
- Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with requirements and standards
- Oversee the monitoring and assessment of test completion, verification processes, and issue resolution for software systems
- Review products and processes to ensure alignment with project plans and industry standards while consulting on the performance evaluation of internal teams and suppliers
- Investigate and implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes pertinent to software development
- Manage software project and supplier management activities
Description
We are The Boeing Company, seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Systems to join our KC-46 Software Team in Tukwila, Washington. This role focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. You will be part of a team dedicated to developing and certifying cutting-edge aerial refueling and mission software. The pay range for this position is between $190,400 and $257,600, based on experience and qualifications. This role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, as well as eligibility for relocation based on qualifications.
