Requirements

Must:
- Minimum of 3 years in technical product management or product ownership, specifically in data science, AI, or related technical fields - At least 3 years working in an agile environment - Minimum of 3 years experience with data governance frameworks and compliance standards relevant to data management - Over 3 years working with analytics technology stacks such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Teradata - Willingness to travel domestically up to 10% of the time - Certifications or formal training in product management, data governance, or cloud data technologies is a plus - Familiarity with Alation or another enterprise data catalog or metadata management tool is preferred - Experience integrating metadata harvesters and APIs between catalogs and data platforms is advantageous - Knowledge of cloud data architectures and cloud-native data services - Understanding of data security and privacy frameworks, including implementing access controls - Background in designing adoption programs and training curricula for governance and stewardship - Experience in metrics instrumentation and building product health dashboards to showcase ROI

Responsibilities

- Support and advance the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Alation Data Catalog to enhance data discovery, lineage, stewardship workflows, access policies, and metadata management across the organization - Conduct user research and stakeholder discovery to establish product requirements and prioritize the backlog based on outcomes and KPIs - Define, assess, and improve KPIs such as catalog adoption rates, active users, metadata coverage, and stewardship service level agreements (SLAs) - Collaborate with Data Engineering and Platform teams to integrate Alation with enterprise data sources and metadata harvesters, ensuring scalable and secure connections - Serve as the main business-facing product owner for the catalog: conduct demos, onboard new user groups, design training programs, and advocate our value both internally and externally - Create and present BI/analytics for product metrics and user-reported outcomes through dashboards and reports tracking adoption and areas for improvement - Assist in data governance processes including ownership/stewardship assignments, access controls, and policy enforcement workflows - Organize governance forums and stakeholder working groups, prioritizing enhancements that streamline processes and build trust in corporate data assets
