Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent directly related qualifications
- Level 3: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: Minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 2 years of practical experience in the aviation and/or safety sector (e.g., as a pilot or air traffic controller)
- Capability to comprehend data concepts and extract insights from data
- Familiarity with fundamental statistical principles
- Strong written and oral communication abilities
- Proficiency in drafting succinct safety findings and presenting them to diverse teams
- Experience working collaboratively across functions and managing multiple priorities
- 5 years of practical experience handling real-world data
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis to identify or investigate reported safety concerns, risks, and hazards in the in-service fleet
- Determine systemic root causes of safety and mission assurance issues and recommend corrective actions using industry best practices
- Collaborate with internal and external entities to define, validate, and integrate requirements for safety, mission success, and airworthiness into designs and operations
- Create and maintain analytic tools and data-driven processes for assessing safety risks and informing safety enhancements
- Document safety analyses, hazard mitigation, and validation activities while adhering to relevant standards
- Contribute to the development of global safety advocacy strategies, training programs, tools, and methodologies
- Collect, cleanse, fuse, and validate various aviation data sources
- Perform exploratory, statistical, and time/trajectory-based analyses to detect safety trends and risk factors
- Develop, validate, and maintain analytics, models, and monitors to quantify risk and evaluate mitigations
- Create reusable data products and visualizations to inform engineering, operations, and safety teams
- Translate analytical findings into clear safety recommendations and action plans
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
