Cyber Infrastructure Research Engineer

- Design, implement, and sustain secure cyber infrastructure to support our research initiatives and safeguard sensitive data - Perform risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to uncover potential threats to our cyber infrastructure, applying relevant security measures - Monitor and evaluate network performance and security metrics to uphold the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of research data and systems - Create and preserve documentation related to cyber infrastructure architecture, configurations, and security protocols for compliance and training purposes - Offer technical support and troubleshooting for cyber infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal disruption to research activities and workflows - Keep abreast of advancements in cybersecurity technologies and methodologies to strengthen our cyber defense capabilities - Conduct training sessions for researchers and staff on best practices for data security and the effective use of cyber infrastructure resources - Partner with external vendors and collaborators to assess and integrate new technologies that enhance our research cyber infrastructure - Work closely with researchers to ascertain specific cyber infrastructure needs and devise solutions that satisfy their project requirements - Undertake other duties as assigned
