Requirements
Must:
- Background in computer science, engineering, science, or technology
- Experience teaching or coaching youth aged 10-18
- Proficient in at least one coding language such as JavaScript or Python
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building abilities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with restorative practices and conflict management
- Growth mindset with the ability to receive and utilize feedback
- Passion for youth development
- Integrity, maturity, and alignment with Black Girls CODEs mission
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass a background check
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of Black Girls CODE curriculum for coding
- Participate in training sessions for facilitators before the workshop starts
- Engage with students and staff as both a resource and facilitator
- Foster and uphold Black Girls CODE culture and themes
- Assist with the implementation of evaluations for Black Girls CODE programs
- Assess student performance and progress through various evaluations
- Adjust instructional materials to better meet student learning needs
- Commit to the full camp session from July 27 to July 31
