Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or Technology
- Proficient in at least one coding language (e.g., JavaScript, Python)
- Proven experience in teaching or coaching students aged 10-18
- Strong classroom management and community-building abilities
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
- Knowledgeable in restorative practices and conflict resolution
- Ability to effectively problem-solve
- Enthusiastic and skilled in youth development
- Integrity, maturity, and commitment to our mission
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork aptitude
- Must clear a background check
Responsibilities
- Facilitate coding education for young women using our curriculum
- Participate in training sessions for teachers and facilitators before workshops
- Act as a resource and facilitator for youth and staff interactions
- Foster and uphold the values and culture of Black Girls Code
- Assist in conducting evaluations related to our programs
- Assess and monitor student progress and mastery through various evaluations
- Adapt educational materials to meet student learning needs based on assessments
- Availability required for the full duration of the camp session: July 6-10
