Must:
- Background in computer science, engineering, science, or technology
- Experience teaching or coaching youth aged 10-18
- Proficiency in at least one coding language such as JavaScript or Python
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building abilities
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
- Knowledge of restorative practices and conflict management
- Problem-solving skills and a growth mindset for feedback
- Passion for youth development and commitment to our mission
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective teamwork capabilities
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
Responsibilities
- Deliver lessons in coding to young women using the Black Girls Code curriculum
- Participate in training sessions for educators before the workshops commence
- Act as a resource and facilitator for students and staff
- Uphold and promote the culture of Black Girls Code
- Help implement and assess Black Girls Code evaluations
- Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Adapt instructional materials when necessary to meet learning objectives
- Availability for the entire camp session from July 13 to July 17
