Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum of 11 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in Data Center/Mission Critical Design
- Previous construction support experience
- Understanding of design distinctions in hyperscale, edge, and colocation data centers
- Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit
- Expertise in Data Center airflow CFD modeling for internal and external assessments
- Ability to compute HVAC cooling and heating loads and size HVAC equipment
- Knowledge of HVAC system energy modeling and compliance with energy codes
- Familiarity with green building initiatives such as LEED
- Experience with technical submittal and bid review processes for substantial water and air-cooled chiller plants
- Knowledge of International Codes Council (ICC) suite of codes, ASHRAE standards, ASPE handbooks, and SMACNA standards
- Awareness of NFPA Standards
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience with Cadence Reality Data Center Design (formerly 6Sigma Room)
Responsibilities
- Oversee design and construction processes, including various project delivery methodologies like Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build
- Create HVAC and plumbing systems specifically for hyperscale and colocation data centers, including administrative and support areas
- Support additional facilities such as Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage, Electrical Distribution Center, and more
- Conduct Data Center airflow CFD modeling studies for internal and external environments
- Perform energy audits, efficiency studies, code reviews, and sustainable design applications including LEED strategies
- Enhance engineering skills through involvement in challenging projects
