Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent engineering work experience
- Minimum of 11 years of relevant work experience
- Active engineering registration or licensure to fulfill engineer of record requirements for BV projects in applicable regions, including U.S. Professional Engineer License
- Preferred: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
- Preferred: Prior Project Lead experience in Data Center Designs
- Preferred: Understanding of design risk factors related to redundancy and resiliency
- Preferred: Knowledge of design variations in hyper-scale, edge, and colocation data centers
- Preferred: Proficiency in 3D modeling and managing custom families in Autodesk Revit
- Preferred: Familiarity with Data Center tier rating systems
- Preferred: Strong understanding of Autodesk Revit tools
- Preferred: Experience with BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit work sets, view templates, and project phasing
- Preferred: Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment
- Preferred: Self-motivation to achieve results within deadlines
- Preferred: Attention to detail with capacity to manage multiple priorities
- Preferred: Experience analyzing and utilizing data to challenge assumptions
- Preferred: Professional communication skills for client-facing tasks
- Preferred: Proven ability to lead projects, including managing schedules, budgets, and staffing
- Preferred: Experience supporting business development activities, including developing scope-of-work and site visits
- Preferred: Strong leadership skills with aptitude to mentor early career professionals
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of design-only, design-build, and construction projects focusing on Electrical Engineering for Data Centers
- Provide subject matter expertise in Data Center design
- Mentor and develop early career and/or less experienced professionals
- Collaborate with a team of engineers skilled in Data Center projects
- Foster business relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives
- Engage in a client-facing role to support business development initiatives
- Assist in business development by creating scope-of-work and participating in site visits to grasp project scope
- Continuously enhance technical expertise in relevant areas
- Guide and inform team members about design guidelines, standards, and applicable engineering codes
- Ensure adherence to quality program standards, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
- Produce complex engineering deliverables for various projects, performing thorough research and making material selections
- Conduct complicated engineering calculations, managing project budgets, schedules, and quality standards
- Coordinate effectively with both internal and external team members on intricate projects
- Identify key client interests and communicate these to project teams, accommodating their concerns
- Anticipate future client needs and position B&V accordingly, often supporting business development activities
- Act as a technical specialist in a broad or niche area, supporting multiple projects and solving complex engineering challenges
- Oversee performance management, career advancement, and development initiatives for team members
