Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
- Familiarity with Data Center/Mission Critical Design
- Experience with construction support
- Understanding of design distinctions in Hyper-scale and colocation data centers
- Knowledge of Data Center tier rating systems
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit
- Experience in Data Center airflow CFD modeling for both internal and external evaluations
- Skills in computer-generated HVAC cooling and heating loads and equipment sizing
- Understanding of HVAC system energy modeling and related energy codes
- Familiarity with green building initiatives such as LEED
- Experience with technical submittal and bid review processes for large-scale chiller plants
- Knowledge of International Codes Council (ICC) Suite, ASHRAE Handbooks/Standards, ASPE design handbooks, and SMACNA Standards
- Awareness of NFPA Standards
- Strong attention to detail while managing multiple priorities
- Competence in Cadence Reality Data Center Design (formerly 6Sigma Room)
Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems across various facilities
- Engage in design and construction activities using methods such as Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems primarily for HyperScale and Colocation Data Centers, including their administrative and support areas
- Support design in additional spaces such as Warehouses, Laboratories, and Electrical Distribution Centers
- Conduct airflow CFD modeling for Data Center interior and exterior
- Perform energy audits, efficiency studies, code reviews, and sustainable design applications including LEED
- Develop engineering skills through challenging project work
